Michèle Burke
Michèle Burke (December 29, 1949 – September 26, 2025) was an Irish-born makeup artist who won two Academy Awards. Born in Kildare, Ireland, she moved to Canada in 1973 with her brother Mark, began as a model in Montreal, and later became a makeup artist. She held Irish, Canadian, and United States citizenship. Burke died on September 26, 2025, in Los Angeles, at the age of 75. She won Best Makeup Oscars for Quest for Fire (1981) — the first woman to win in this category — and Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). Her career spanned from 1980 to 2025.
