Metasphenisca nigricans is a species of fruit fly in the Tephritidae family. It belongs to the genus Metasphenisca. The species was described by Wiedemann in 1830 and has the synonym Trypeta nigricans. Metasphenisca nigricans is found in the Afrotropical region, which includes parts of Africa.
