Meghraj Tawar (died August 27, 2017) was an Indian politician from the Communist Party of India who worked closely with Rajasthan’s Adivasi communities. He represented the Gogunda constituency in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 1980 to 1985 and belonged to the Bhil community.

Tawar was a prominent Adivasi leader for the CPI. In the 1970s he was detained under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act for leading a campaign against moneylenders. G.S. Rao described him as someone who challenged local authorities and even ran a tribal government in Gogunda for several days, which could only be ended by police action.

In 2011, he served as a national office bearer of the All India Adivasi Mahasabha.

Election history highlights:
- 1977 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (Gogunda): finished second with 8,743 votes (40.62%), defeated by Bhura Lal of the Janata Party.
- 1980 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (Gogunda): won the seat with 9,530 votes (33.74%).

Lok Sabha attempts (1984–2014): He contested from Salumber in 1984 (37,260 votes, 10.56%), 1989 (21,837 votes, 4.88%), 1991 (16,203 votes, 3.86%), 1996 (24,450 votes, 5.70%), 1998 (42,202 votes, 7.04%), 1999 (22,417 votes, 3.99%), and 2004 (32,233 votes, 5.12%), finishing third in all those elections.
- Rajasthan Assembly attempts: Phalasia (1985) – second place with 4,301 votes (14.55%); Sarada (1990) – third with 3,915 votes (6.87%); Sarada (1993) – third with 8,109 votes (12.20%); Gongunda (1998) – third with 2,952 votes (4.17%); Gongunda (2003) – third with 5,923 votes (6.42%); Gongunda (2013) – third with 6,416 votes.
- 2009 general election (Udaipur, after delimitation): third with 27,324 votes (3.60%).
- 2014 general election: CPI fielded him as the candidate in Udaipur, and he was the first to file his nomination papers.

Meghraj Tawar passed away on August 27, 2017, at Rabindranath Tagore Medical College Hospital in Udaipur, at the age of 76.
