Battle Range
Battle Range is a subrange of the Selkirk Mountains, which are part of the Columbia Mountains in southeastern British Columbia, Canada. It lies between the Incomappleux River and the Duncan River, south of Battle Brook.
The range is named after Battle Brook, a site linked to a legendary encounter between a grizzly bear and 1890s prospector George Ritchie.
The area has a subarctic climate with cold, snowy winters and mild summers. Winter temperatures can fall below −20°C, with wind chills well below −30°C.
