Cape Breton Nova
Cape Breton Nova was a provincial electoral district in Nova Scotia, Canada. It existed from 1956 to 2013 and elected one member to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly.
In its last configuration, it covered the northern part of Sydney (including Whitney Pier) and a small area of Cape Breton County within the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
Origins and boundary changes:
- Created in 1956.
- 1993: Gained Ashby area from Cape Breton South and Grand Lake Road area from Cape Breton West; lost Scotchtown and River Ryan/Lingan to Cape Breton Centre.
- 2003: Lost New Victoria; gained part of northern Sydney.
- 2013: Abolished and absorbed by Cape Breton Centre, Sydney River-Mira-Louisbourg, and Sydney-Whitney Pier.
Demographics (2011 census): Population 12,820; Electors 10,748. Part of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality; Sydney subdivision.
Represented by one member in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly during its existence.
