McCoy is an unincorporated community in Atascosa County, Texas, United States, and it is part of the San Antonio metropolitan area. The community had about 30 residents in 2000. It was named after local settler and rancher W.A. McCoy. McCoy has its own post office with the ZIP code 78113. It sits along Farm to Market Road 541 and the Missouri Pacific Railroad, about 8 miles north of Campbellton and 18 miles southeast of Pleasanton. The elevation is around 302 feet (92 meters). A two-room school existed in 1920; by 1935 it had expanded to include five teachers and 173 students, but it closed in 1950 and joined Leal’s schools. Today, students in the area attend the Pleasanton Independent School District.
