Mazahir Rustamov (Mazahir Izzet oglu Rustamov) was a National Hero of Azerbaijan. He was born on March 2, 1960, in Baku. When Armenian forces attacked Karabakh, Mazahir Rustamov volunteered for the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. On August 6, 1992, during a major battle, he sacrificed his life by detonating a grenade to stop the attackers. His unit later reclaimed Mutudərə and Bashkend.

For his heroism, Mazahir Rustamov was posthumously awarded the title National Hero of Azerbaijan on February 5, 1993. He is buried in the Alley of Martyrs in Baku. He was married and had a daughter named Tahmina.

A school in Baku is named after him (School No. 32), and a bronze statue stands in Gedebey district. He wrote several articles, including "Say to My Mom," "The Legend Return," and "The Road To Ardağ," which appeared in local newspapers and Turkish publications such as Hurriyet and Zaman.
