Mayor Adam West
Mayor Adam West is a fictional character from Family Guy. He is the mayor of Quahog, Rhode Island, and appears from the show’s early seasons through season 17. Voiced by Adam West, the character is a funny, friendly but odd man who often acts in wild ways that can put others in danger or waste money. His quirks include sending the entire police force to Cartagena to search for a movie character, spending on a solid gold Dig ’Em frog statue, and cementing coffins because he fears zombies. He does not belong to a shown political party.
In the episode "420," he legalizes marijuana after a Brian song, then re-criminalizes it after Brian is bribed to sing against it. In "Brothers & Sisters," he marries Lois’s sister Carol. The episode "Dr. C and the Women" hints he may be sane and that his odd acts are a cover for something darker. The idea for Mayor West came after Seth MacFarlane saw Adam West in Johnny Bravo, where he played a quirky version of himself.
Adam West died on June 9, 2017. The show later revealed that Mayor West died offscreen in "Adam West High." The producers said they would address the loss. Beginning with "Wild Wild West," the mayor’s job is taken by his cousin Wild West, voiced by Sam Elliott.
