Maxine Elliott Hicks (October 5, 1904 – January 10, 2000) was an American actress who became a big star in silent films. She was born in Denver, Colorado, to George W. and Margaret Hicks and began acting on stage at age five. She appeared in more than 200 film roles between 1914 and 1937. Her debut film was The Crimson Dove in 1917, though some say she was an extra in an earlier 1914 film. She played Felice, the daughter of Ethel Barrymore’s character, in The Eternal Mother (1917) and Susie May Squoggs in The Poor Little Rich Girl.

Hicks successfully joined talking pictures but left acting in 1937 after a dispute with Warner Bros. years later. After a long break, she returned to acting in 1976 under the name Maxine Elliott, taking small parts on television, including All in the Family, and had a recurring role on Just the Ten of Us. She also appeared in commercials and the film Defending Your Life.

She was married to Frank Dodge from 1938 to 1948. Hicks died at age 95 in San Clemente, California, on January 10, 2000. She was survived by three sons, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Her ashes are at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills, California.
