The tournament was played on outdoor clay courts in Kitzbühel, Austria, from July 14 to July 20. It was the 38th edition of the Austrian Open and part of the ATP Tour’s International Series Gold, with a prize money of €550,000. The event took place at the Kitzbühel Sportpark Tennis Stadium and featured a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw.

In the singles final, Juan Martín del Potro defeated Jürgen Melzer 6–2, 6–1 to win the title. In doubles, James Cerretani and Victor Hănescu defeated Lucas Arnold Ker and Olivier Rochus 6–3, 7–5.
