Matías Moroni (born 29 March 1991 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine rugby union player who usually plays at centre and can also cover the wing. He plays for Bristol Bears in the Premiership and represents Argentina internationally.
Moroni grew up in Los Molinos and played for Club Universitario de Buenos Aires before joining the Jaguares in 2016. He moved to England to join Leicester Tigers for the 2020–21 season and quickly became a regular, scoring his first try against Connacht in the European Rugby Challenge Cup. He started in Leicester’s 2022 Premiership final win.
In June 2022 he signed for Newcastle Falcons, where he stayed until the end of the 2023–24 season. After a six-month sabbatical, he joined CA Brive in January 2025 and made his Pro D2 debut in a defeat to US Dax. In October 2025 he signed a short-term deal with Bristol Bears as injury cover.
Internationally, Moroni played for Argentina’s Under-20 side in 2011, made his senior debut in 2014, and has earned around 95 caps with 65 points as of 2023. He also played for the Argentina sevens team from 2012 to 2016, including the 2016 Olympics.
