Marbled sand frog
Marbled sand frog (Tomopterna marmorata) is a species of frog in the Pyxicephalidae family. It is native to East and southern Africa and has been found in Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, with possible sightings in Namibia, Eswatini, and Tanzania. Its conservation status is Least Concern (IUCN 3.1). Binomial name: Tomopterna marmorata (Peters, 1854).
The marbled sand frog lives in a variety of habitats, including dry and moist savannas, subtropical or tropical shrublands (both dry and moist), rivers and intermittent rivers, intermittent freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, arable land, pastureland, water storage areas, and ponds.
