Manuel Esteba i Gallego (April 17, 1941 – February 4, 2010) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter from Barcelona. He worked in film for about 30 years, starting in the 1960s. He is known for writing a spoof of Steven Spielberg’s E.T. called El E.T.E. y el Oto. His film credits include Saranda (the 1970s film also known as Twenty Paces to Death) starring Dean Reed, and A Cry of Death with Pierre Brice and Steven Tedd. As a director, he teamed with the Calatrava Brothers on three comedies. In 1992 he wrote and directed the documentary Un jardinero en tu casa, hosted by Julian Silvestre. He died on February 4, 2010 in Barcelona at age 68.
