Welcome Home, My Love
Welcome Home, My Love is a Mandarin drama co-produced by Malaysia’s Media Prima Berhad and Singapore’s MediaCorp TV. The 25-episode series (about 60 minutes each) is set in the Kuala Lumpur suburbs and filmed in the Klang Valley,-with a cast from Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore. It aired in 2009 on ntv7 in Malaysia and on MediaCorp Channel 8 in Singapore.
The story follows the Jiang family, led by conservative widowed father Jiang Zhen Min, who raised four children after his wife’s death about 20 years ago. As the children chase their own goals, a gap grows between them and their father. The drama explores the clash between traditional and modern values and tackles issues such as materialism, unemployment, late marriage, irresponsible parenting, extramarital affairs and divorce. It’s a warm, hopeful look at modern city life and the importance of family bonds.
