Heavyshift, sometimes written as Heavy Shift, is a British acid jazz group led by William South (piano) and John Wallace (saxophone), who began playing together around 1994. They have released four albums. The Cocktail Years is a Wallace/South project and not officially part of Heavy Shift. Their debut, Unchain Your Mind, features the hit "90 Degrees in the Shade" and reached the Top Five on the new adult contemporary and Billboard jazz charts. Jazz FM named it Album of the Year.
