Mahmud Pasha (died 1567) was an Ottoman statesman from Bosnia. He served as the governor of Yemen Eyalet from 1561 to 1565, but was deposed. He then governed Egypt Eyalet from 1566 until his assassination by gunfire in 1567. He was described as unscrupulous and corrupt, but very wealthy, reportedly possessing the riches of the al-Nazaris. He allegedly disliked his Yemen successor, Ridwan Pasha, and tried to make his job harder before his removal. As Egypt’s governor, he built the Al-Mahmoudia Mosque in Cairo, which still stands today.
