Ilias Panagiotaros
Ilias Panagiotaros, born in 1973, is a Greek politician who used to be a member of parliament for the far-right Golden Dawn party. In September 2013, he was arrested with four other Golden Dawn MPs as part of an investigation into the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, and he faced charges of being part of a criminal organization. In 2020, he was found guilty and sentenced to 13 years in prison. In 2014, Panagiotaros made controversial statements, describing Hitler as a “great personality, like Stalin,” and calling homosexuality a “sickness.” He also said that most Muslim immigrants to Greece were “Jihadists” and “fanatic Muslims” and argued for a one-race nation, saying, “if you are talking about nation, it is one race.”
