Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour season 2012–13
The 2012–13 Pro Tour season was the 18th season of Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour. It ran from May 19, 2012 to May 19, 2013. The season included 44 Grand Prix events and three Pro Tours (Seattle, Montreal, and San Diego). Josh Utter-Leyton was named the Pro Player of the Year, Yuuya Watanabe was the World Champion, and Felipe Tapia Becerra was the Rookie of the Year. Hall of Fame inductees were Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa, Kenji Tsumura, Masashi Oiso, and Patrick Chapin.
The season also saw invitations based on performance: 16 players earned spots in the 2012 Players Championship, arranged according to their final season standings, and 16 players earned invites to the 2013 World Championship based on the 2012–13 season results.
Pro Tour Return to Ravnica was the first major Modern event to feature Return to Ravnica, and it also marked the time when Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle was unbanned in Modern. After Pro Tour Dragon's Maze, Josh Utter-Leyton remained the Pro Player of the Year.
