Maamla Legal Hai
Maamla Legal Hai is an Indian Hindi-language legal drama-comedy series on Netflix. Directed by Rahul Pandey and written by Saurabh Khanna and Kunal Aneja, it stars Ravi Kishan, Anant V Joshi, Nidhi Bisht, Naila Grrewal, Tanvi Azmi, and Yashpal Sharma. The show has eight episodes in one season and began streaming on March 1, 2024. A second season was announced in April 2024.
Plot and setting: At the District Court Patparganj, quirky staff try to dispense justice, but their chaos often clashes with the strict letter of the law, creating comedic situations.
Reception: Critics were mixed. The Indian Express said not every episode lands and the jokey tone sometimes doesn’t suit the case. India Today gave it 3 out of 5 stars, noting that law and justice are two different things. The Times of India rated it 3.5 out of 5, calling it a unique look into Patparganj’s district court. OTT Play also gave 3.5 out of 5, praising the humor and performances as the main entertainment.
