Windsor Royal was a proposed railway station in Windsor as part of the Windsor Link Railway project. It would have replaced Windsor & Eton Riverside and Windsor & Eton Central with one station and would connect to Heathrow Terminal 5.

In June 2013, Network Rail gave the green light to move to the next development phase and seek private investment. On December 11, 2013, Windsor’s Royal Borough received 1,423 signatures in support, leading to a full council discussion on February 25, 2014. The council unanimously supported the project and urged WLR to continue planning and submit further details.

In August 2014, WLR announced it had hired Turner & Townsend to run a competition to find an investment partner. In November 2014, a working group of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead recommended backing the proposals in the borough local plan, provided no substantial harm to heritage assets was found; this was confirmed by the borough cabinet on February 26, 2015. The local neighbourhood plan also included regeneration plans for the Windsor riverside.

The Windsor Observer reported on July 31, 2015 that a public consultation on the Windsor Link Railway was delayed to consider the project within the wider Windsor regeneration plan. Plans to link the two stations were rejected in early December 2018 by the Department for Transport.
