Louis Companyo (1781–1871) was a French physician and naturalist born in Céret who lived in Perpignan. He helped found and direct the Musée d'Histoire Naturelle de Perpignan and wrote Histoire naturelle du département des Pyrénées-Orientales, published in Perpignan from 1861 to 1864 when he was in his eighties. The work has three volumes: Volume 1 covers geography, geology and paleontology; Volume 2 covers botany; Volume 3 covers zoology and entomology.
