Argyle Pink Jubilee

The Argyle Pink Jubilee is the largest rough pink diamond ever found in Australia. It came from the Argyle diamond mine in Western Australia and was discovered in August 2011. The stone weighed 12.76 carats (2.552 g) when found and was owned by Rio Tinto Group.

Its cutting began in Perth in February 2012, led by Richard How Kim Kam. While shaping the diamond, a major internal fault line was found that could not be fixed. After minimal cutting, the stone weighed 8.01 carats (1.602 g) and was donated to the Melbourne Museum (Museum Victoria).

Large rough pink diamonds like this often go to museums or are sold at high-profile auctions; Christie's has auctioned 18 polished pink diamonds larger than 10 carats in its long history.
