Live Performance
Live Performance is a live album by Jake Thackray. It was recorded at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on 1 November 1970 and released by EMI as an LP in 1971, with a 1976 reissue. An expanded CD version followed in 2006 and runs about 96 minutes. Thackray was uncomfortable performing in large venues and, given his socialist politics, questioned why people would pay to see him; producer Norman Newell persuaded him to go on stage. There was a similar moment before a 1977 concert when his agent allegedly intercepted him in his car as he was leaving the venue. All tracks were written by Jake Thackray.
