1979 Lorraine Open
The 1979 Lorraine Open was the tournament’s first edition, played on indoor carpet courts in Nancy, France. It was part of the 1979 Colgate-Palmolive Grand Prix, held from March 19–25, with prize money of $50,000 and a draw of 32 singles and 16 doubles. Fourth-seeded Yannick Noah won the singles title, defeating Jean-Louis Haillet 6–2, 5–7, 6–1, 7–5. In doubles, Klaus Eberhard and Karl Meiler beat Robin Drysdale and Andrew Jarrett 4–6, 7–6, 6–3.
