Little Mac Ski Hill
Little Mac Ski Hill, or Little Mac, is a small, community‑run ski area near Mackenzie, British Columbia, in the northern Rocky Mountain Trench. It has one tow lift, about 90 metres of vertical drop, and its longest run is around 210 metres. Besides downhill skiing, you can toboggan and snowboard there.
The hill connects to John Dahl Regional Park, which has groomed cross-country trails and links to the Mackenzie Recreation Centre. An outdoor ice rink opened in the park in 2021 for public use. Nearby Mackenzie also offers 32 kilometres of cross-country trails with warming huts, and in summer the hill has mountain biking trails to Morfee Lake with wooden jumps and varied terrain.
Little Mac Ski Hill is funded by the District of Mackenzie and run by the town’s public works department, and it remains a popular attraction for families. In 2008, the town received $160,000 from the Towns for Tomorrow program to rebuild the Little Mac Chalet. The hill did not operate in the 2018/19 season, but community input supported reopening, and it came back for the 2020/2021 season with strong interest.
