Eggert Gilfer

Eggert Gilfer (12 February 1892 – 24 March 1960) was an Icelandic chess player born in Njarðvík. He won the Icelandic Chess Championship seven times (1918, 1920, 1925, 1927, 1929, 1935, 1942). From the late 1910s to the mid-1950s he was one of Iceland's top players and he represented Iceland in the Chess Olympiads.
