Cyprus has several mosques, mostly dating from Ottoman times. They are found in towns across the island, on both sides of the island’s split administration. Some mosques are large and famous, while others are smaller local places of prayer. A few well-known mosques are:

- Selimiye Mosque, Nicosia – the main mosque in the capital. It was once the Cathedral of St. Sophia.
- Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Famagusta – a large mosque inside the old walled city, originally the Church of Saint Nicholas.
- Hala Sultan Tekke, near Larnaca – a sacred site by the Salt Lake, dating from the Ottoman era.
- Omeriye Mosque, Old City of Nicosia – a historic mosque in the southern part of the city.

There are many other mosques serving communities in towns across the island. If you visit, be respectful, dress modestly, and follow local guidelines for religious sites.
