List of Reed College buildings
Reed College's campus has academic buildings, dormitories, service facilities, student centers, and other structures.
Academic buildings
- A. A. Knowlton Laboratory of Physics
- Arthur F. Scott Laboratory of Chemistry (1992)
- Center for Advanced Computation
- Educational Technology Center (2002)
- L.E. Griffin Memorial Biology Building
- Psychology Building
Arts and performance buildings
- Kaul Auditorium
- Studio Art Building
- Performing Arts Building
- Theatre Annex Building
The Annex includes a main stage, a black box theater, rooms for instruction and rehearsals, and storage space known as Reed Warehouse.
Residence halls
- Old Dorm Block (built in 1912) houses eight halls: Abington, Doyle, Eastport, Kerr, Ladd, Quincy, Westport, Winch
- Cross Canyon Residence Halls: Bragdon, Chittick, Griffin, McKinley, Woodbridge (separated from campus by Reed Canyon; mainly for first-year students)
These buildings sit in a grassy, wooded area; they are smaller and foster a strong sense of community
- Chittick, Griffin, McKinley, and Woodbridge each hold about 28 residents
- Bragdon Hall is the newest of the group (built in 1998)
- Woodstock Language Houses: French, German, Russian, and Spanish Houses (designed by A. E. Doyle, built in 1922)
These houses were once for faculty and now mainly host residents who converse in their languages and sponsor events
- Foster and Scholz (1954–1955) and MacNaughton (built at the same time) were originally separate male/female dorms; now all are coed with divided doubles
- Anna Mann (originally female; now coed)
- Birchwood and Reed College Apartments: furnished units available after the first year
- Garden House: acquired in 1991, renovated in 1994; houses ten students
- Naito Hall and Sullivan Hall (1997): 160 residents, with common areas, kitchens, and views of the Tualatin Mountains
- The Grove (completed 2008): includes Sequoia, Bidwell, Aspen, and Sitka; offers house-like living
- Trillium residence hall (completed 2019): located between the sports fields and the Grove
Service and other buildings
- 28 West: offices for Community Safety and Residence Life
- Dorothy Johansen House: former residence of a Reed College graduate and professor; now houses academic support services
- Health and Counseling Center: opened in 1938 as the Glenn Chesney Quiett Infirmary; provides health and counseling services
- Greywood: moved to campus in 1946; now houses alumni/parent relations, College Relations Information Systems (CRIS), and career services
- Aubrey R. Watzek Sports Center: built in 1965 to replace the original gym from 1913
- Parker House: Arts and Crafts-style home designed by Morris H. Whitehouse in 1929; Reed College bought it in 2005; much of its original gardens remain
Other notes
- The campus blends historic and modern buildings, with many named after early faculty, presidents, or designers.
