Li Tao (politician)
Li Tao (李涛; born January 1971 in Hanchuan, Hubei) is a Chinese politician and former mayor of Jingmen. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in January 1993 and studied industrial economy at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. He spent his career in Hubei province, rising through various government and party posts, including deputy director of the Hubei Provincial Economic and Trade Commission and later director of the Jingmen Agriculture and Grain Office. He became vice mayor of Jingmen in April 2016, and later served as deputy party secretary, president of the Jingmen Municipal School of Administration, and secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission. In June 2021, he was appointed mayor of Jingmen, a role he held until January 2023, when he became deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the CCP Jingmen Municipal Committee at department level. On 19 April 2024, Li Tao was dismissed from the CCP for serious violations of discipline and laws.
