Musco Lighting
Musco Lighting, LLC is a private company that designs and builds lighting for sports, transportation and infrastructure, mobile lighting for events, and modular sports venues. It is based in Oskaloosa, Iowa, with manufacturing plants in Muscatine, Iowa; Incheon, South Korea; and Shanghai, China. The company has offices around the world, serving North America, Europe, Central America, the Middle East, Australia, and beyond.

Key milestones in Musco’s history
- 1980s: Created the mobile Musco Light system; tested at the University of Iowa; used for Notre Dame vs. Michigan; developed SportsCluster2 and glare-reduction technologies (Level-8, Total Light Control)
- 1980s–1990s: Built a full-system approach with in-house poles and bases; lit major events like the 1983 Super Bowl, the 1984 Olympics, and the Statue of Liberty rededication; Light-Structure System used at the 1992 Little League World Series
- Early 1990s: Helped NASCAR develop a night-race lighting system (Charlotte Motor Speedway) and created the Mirtran system with ground-level mirrors; earned an IES award
- 1990s: Global expansion began with projects in England; Queen Elizabeth II attended the unveiling at Dunstall Park
- 1995–2000s: Responded to disasters with lighting assistance (Oklahoma City bombing scene, 9/11 recovery efforts); 2006 project to light the Washington Monument façade using Mirtran; began exploring LEDs
- 2008: R&D on LED lighting for sports and large outdoor spaces; donated LED lighting for the White House façade
- 2010s: Mirtran lighting installed at Losail and Yas Marina racetracks; supported Flight 93 Memorial lighting; LED systems deployed at venues such as Wells Fargo Arena (ASU) and other large stadiums
- 2017: TLC for LED rolled out in major league stadiums and arenas; partnered on the Mini-Pitch System to expand youth soccer opportunities
- 2010s–2020s: LED lighting installed at Notre Dame Stadium, L.A. Memorial Coliseum, Wimbledon Centre Court, AO Arena Manchester, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and at airports and port terminals (e.g., Vancouver, LAX, McCarran, and Jebel Ali)
- 2021: Installed TLC for LED and ShowLight at a Field of Dreams stadium in Dyersville, Iowa; MLB at Field of Dreams event held there
- 2022: Installed LED systems at Manchester United’s Old Trafford
- 2024: Installed TLC for LED at Red Bull Arena (New York Red Bulls)
