Lestock Graham DesBrisay
Lestock Graham DesBrisay (September 3, 1920 – 1988) was a Canadian businessman and Liberal politician from New Brunswick. Born in Campbellton, he studied at Mount Allison University. He served as governor of the Atlantic Provinces Chambers of Commerce from 1958 to 1959. In the 1960 New Brunswick general election, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly for Moncton City. Premier Louis Robichaud appointed him as Minister of Finance. He was re-elected in 1963 and, on July 8, 1963, also became Minister of Industry, serving in that role until April 1, 1968. He was re-elected again in 1967 and remained Minister of Finance until the Liberal government was defeated in the 1970 election. He was a descendant of Captain Théophile de la Cour DesBrisay (1671–1761), whose Huguenot ancestors fled persecution in France and settled in Dublin, Ireland before coming to Canada.
