Layne Dalfen (born April 3, 1952, in Montreal) is a Canadian dream analyst, author, lecturer, and columnist. She founded the Dream Interpretation Center in Montreal and shares ideas about dream interpretation in many media outlets.

Her journey began after the birth of her daughter Tina, who has Down syndrome. This led Layne to seek therapy and sparked her interest in dreams. She started with Freudian dream interpretation, earned a Gestalt Counseling certificate in 1988, and studied dreamwork at the Alfred Adler Institute in 1992. Since 1995 she has been involved with the C.G. Jung Society. In 1997 she opened the Dream Interpretation Center to teach people how to analyze dreams from a psychological perspective. She has taught at Concordia University since 2005 and served on the International Association for the Study of Dreams board from 2005 to 2009. In 2024 she consulted on Disney Pixar’s Dream Productions series for Disney+.

Dalfen views the unconscious mind as a personal database of memories, so every dream is unique. Her approach is an easy-to-understand method with six steps—Feelings, Actions, Play on Words, Symbols, Plot, and Repetition—called Points of Entry. The goal is to help the dreamer uncover the issue the dream is addressing and find practical next steps.

She writes the Understanding Dreams blog on Psychology Today and is known as the "Dream Catcher" for Oprah Daily, offering practical dream insights. She has written two books in the Have a Great Dream series and articles such as Problem Solving While You Sleep and Sexual Dreams in Body and Soul.

Dalfen has appeared on more than 250 radio and TV programs across the U.S. and Canada, including NBC, CBS, ABC, WGN, Coast to Coast AM, and CBS Mornings Plus, and has contributed to documentaries and other programs such as Seeing 911.
