Larry Wolek is a fictional doctor on the soap One Life to Live. He appears from 1968 to 2004 and is a member of the Wolek family who works as a physician and eventually becomes the chief of staff at Llanview Hospital. The role was first played by Paul Tulley in 1968, briefly by Jim Storm later that year, and then by Michael Storm from 1969 onward, a performance that helped make him a long-running fan favorite. The character also crossed over to All My Children in 1970.

Larry is introduced as the young doctor who becomes involved with Meredith Lord. Their relationship leads to drama when Larry is accused of murder after a confrontation with Meredith’s fiancé, Ted Hale, but he is cleared when it’s revealed Ted died by accident and Meredith’s health problems were serious. Meredith dies in 1973, leaving Larry to raise their son, Daniel Wolek.

Larry later marries his former love Karen Martin (married around 1969–70; they divorce in 1979 after Karen’s secret life is revealed). He also has a romance with Laurel Chapin and marries her in 1985; Laurel dies in 1986, leaving Larry a widower once again. In addition to his marriages, Larry’s storylines include his growing role at Llanview Hospital and his role as a stabilizing presence for Viki and the extended family.

In the 1990s and early 2000s, Larry remains a central figure at the hospital and a key family ally. He makes his final appearance in 2004, delivering news about a successful heart transplant that involves Viki’s family.

Michael Storm’s portrayal of Larry earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Lead Actor in 1978. The character’s journey spans decades, making him one of the longest-running and memory-rich figures in the show’s history.
