Chaudhry Ali Akhter Khan

Chaudhry Ali Akhter Khan (born 10 February 1954) is a Pakistani politician who served as a Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from August 2018 to January 2023. He comes from Faisalabad, Punjab.

Over the years he has been part of several political parties and has run as an independent at times. His party journey has included PPP (1988–1997), PML-N (1997–2002), PML-Q (2002–2013), independent runs (2013–2016 and 2022–2023), PTI (2016–2022), IPP (2023–2025), and AP (2025–present).

Election history:
- 1993: Independent candidate for MPA from PP-46 Faisalabad; received 1,503 votes and was defeated.
- 2002: Independent candidate for MPA from PP-55 Faisalabad; received 2,403 votes and was defeated.
- 2013: Candidate of PML-Q for MPA from PP-62 Faisalabad; defeated by Raza Nasrullah Ghumman (PML-N), who won 53,520 votes.
- 2018: Elected to the Punjab Assembly as a PTI candidate from PP-99 (Faisalabad-III).

In 2023 he left PTI and held a press conference where he levelled corruption allegations against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, joined by other former MPA colleagues.

In the 2024 general election, he ran from PP-106 Faisalabad as a candidate of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party but was defeated by Rai Ahsan Kharal of PTI. Kharal received 65,989 votes; Ali Akhter Khan received 30,530 votes, a margin of 35,459.

Ali Akhter Khan has been active in politics for many years, with several party affiliations and electoral contests in Faisalabad.
