Lance Comfort (11 August 1908 – 25 August 1966) was an English film director and producer. He was born in Harrow, London, and became a very busy maker of B movies in Britain, especially from 1945 to 1965. He directed several films for British National Pictures and kept working almost until his death in Worthing, Sussex, at age 58.

Historians Steve Chibnall and Brian McFarlane say Comfort was good at crafting melodramas that focus on characters. They note his films have a strong, decorative visual style and feel realistic, with little sentimental fluff. Overall, Comfort is remembered as a hardworking director who stayed on the fringes of the film industry.
