Frank Lane Wolford
Frank Lane Wolford (September 2, 1817 – August 2, 1895) was an American lawyer, soldier, and politician from Kentucky. He studied law, began practicing in Liberty, Kentucky, and served in the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1847–1848 and again in 1865–1866.
In the Civil War, Wolford joined the Union Army and organized the 1st Kentucky Cavalry Regiment, becoming its colonel in 1861. He was dismissed in 1864 and briefly arrested. After the war, he served as Adjutant General of the Kentucky militia in 1867–1868.
A Democrat, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and served Kentucky in the Forty-eighth and Forty-ninth Congresses from March 4, 1883 to March 3, 1887. He was not reelected in 1886 and returned to practicing law in Columbia, Kentucky, where he died on August 2, 1895. He is buried in Columbia Cemetery.
