Abu al-Abbas Fazl Ibn Muhammad al-Lawkari (also called al-Lawkari or Lugari) was an Iranian philosopher of the 10th–11th centuries who belonged to Avicenna’s philosophical circle and held an important place in Islamic philosophy. He studied under Bahmanyar and learned Avicenna’s ideas through him. His contemporaries included Omar Khayyam, Alkhazini, Sana'i, and Al-Ghazali. His birth date is known from sources, and a note in Avicenna’s writings mentions the year 1109 in connection with him. He wrote poems in Persian and Arabic, showing his literacy. He died in the early 12th century in Mary, Turkmenistan.
