Lake Weeroona

Lake Weeroona is a man-made lake in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. It was created in 1878 under the guidance of William Guilfoyle, who ran the Melbourne Botanic Gardens. The lake was built on the site of an old mine after Bendigo’s mayor at the time, Duggall McDougall, wanted a lake and a park.

The lake is north of Bendigo’s city center, at the corner of Nolan Street and Napier Street. It covers about 18 hectares.

The area is home to the Bendigo Rowing Club and The Boardwalk Restaurant. There are visitor facilities including a large enclosed playground, toilets, and barbecues.
