La'Tangela Atkinson
La'Tangela Chiquita Atkinson (born 1984) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the WNBA. A 6-foot-2 forward from Bishopville, South Carolina, she starred at Lee Central High School, earning WBCA All-American honors and playing in the WBCA High School All-America Game. She played college basketball at the University of North Carolina from 2002 to 2006, where she was named ACC Rookie of the Year in 2003 and earned other conference honors.
In 2006 she was the ninth overall pick in the WNBA draft, selected by the Indiana Fever. She spent four seasons in the league with the Fever (2006), Sacramento Monarchs (2007–2008), and Seattle Storm (2009), appearing in 68 games with career averages of about 11 minutes per game and 2.6 points per game. During her college career at North Carolina, she scored 1,235 points.
