LAX Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility
The LAX Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility, or ConRAC, is a large new rental-car complex at Los Angeles International Airport. It brings most car rental operations into one location near the 405 freeway to replace lots of scattered offices and shuttle trips around the airport.

- Cost and ownership: Approximately $1 billion for ConRAC, as part of a $5.5 billion Landside Access Modernization Program; built and operated through a public-private partnership led by PCL Construction
- Companies and brands: Five rental-car groups representing 13 brands, including Avis Budget Group (Avis, Budget, Payless, Zipcar), Enterprise Holdings (Enterprise, Alamo, National), Europcar (Europcar, Fox), The Hertz Corporation (Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty), and Sixt
- Sustainability: Designed for LEED Gold with drought-tolerant landscaping, reclaimed water use, and a solar farm producing about 8,400 megawatt-hours per year
- Main features: A five-story ready/return building where customers pick up and return cars, plus a Quick Turn Around building for light maintenance to keep traffic off surrounding roads
- Transit link: An Automated People Mover station (G) serves ConRAC, with trains arriving more frequently during peak hours; travel time from ConRAC to the West Central Terminal Area is about 10 minutes
- After relocation: Some smaller rental-car companies may still offer curbside pickup on the west side of ConRAC while others move into the facility
ConRAC is part of LAX’s effort to streamline access and reduce traffic around the airport as more car rental companies consolidate their operations in one place.
