Zhiyuan Temple (Panjin)
Zhiyuan Temple is a Buddhist temple in Shaling Town, Panshan County, Liaoning, China. It was originally built in the 19th century during the Guangxu period of the Qing dynasty, but war and natural disasters damaged it and it has been rebuilt several times. The current temple was completed in August 1998. The temple covers about 2,400 square metres, with surrounding lands, forests, and mountains bringing the total area to more than 3,700 square metres.
The main buildings include the Shanmen (the gate), Four Heavenly Kings Hall, Drum Tower, Bell Tower, Mahavira Hall, Guru Hall, and a Buddhist Texts Library. In the Mahavira Hall there are three gilded copper statues of the Three-Life Buddha, each about 10 metres tall. Behind the statue of Shakyamuni is a statue of Guanyin, and eighteen Arhats stand on both sides of the hall.
