Koishikawa is a district in Bunkyo, Tokyo. It has five sub-areas, 1-5 chome. Two well-known gardens there are the Koishikawa Botanical Garden (run by the University of Tokyo) in Hakusan and Koishikawa Korakuen Garden in Koraku. Access is easy from Hakusan Station, Korakuen Station, Kasuga Station, and Myogadani Station. The Koishikawa Arsenal was an important military site in the Meiji era. Local public schools are run by Bunkyo Ward. Zoned elementary schools are Kanatomi, Kubomachi, Rekisen, and Yanagicho. Zoned junior high schools are No. 1, No. 3, and Meidai. Koishikawa High School is run by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, which also operates Koishikawa Secondary Education School. Coordinates: 35°42′54″N 139°44′44″E.
