Koishihama Station
Koishihama Station (Koishihama-eki) is a small, unmanned train stop on the Sanriku Railway’s Rias Line in Ōfunato, Iwate Prefecture, Japan. It is 12 kilometers from Sakari Station and has one elevated side platform serving trains in both directions. There is no station building—only a shelter.
History:
- Opened on October 16, 1985. It used the kanji 小石浜駅, and was renamed to Koishihama-eki on July 20, 2009.
- The 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami damaged some tracks, suspending service on parts of the line.
- Service resumed: Sakari to Yoshihama on April 3, 2013; Yoshihama to Kamaishi on April 5, 2014.
- On March 23, 2019, the line became the Rias Line, and Koishihama became an intermediate station on the new line.
