Klamath Falls Gems (1948–1951)
The Klamath Falls Gems were a Class D minor league baseball team based in Klamath Falls, Oregon. They played in the Far West League from 1948 to 1951 and were affiliated with the Philadelphia Phillies. Their home field was Gem Stadium, which is now known as Kiger Stadium.
In their four seasons, the Gems posted winning records each year and won the Far West League championship in 1951. After that season, the Far West League folded and the Gems ceased operations.
A few Gems players reached the majors, including Jim Pendleton and Bob Bowman, who played 457 and 256 major league games, respectively. No other minor league teams have since played in Klamath Falls. The Gems name was revived in the 2010s for a collegiate summer league team, which folded after the 2018 season.
