Sungouiella sharkensis

Sungouiella sharkensis is a yeast found in Florida’s Everglades. It is a fungus in the Metschnikowiaceae family, belonging to the genus Sungouiella. The species name is Sungouiella sharkensis. It was described by Fell, M.H. Gut., Statzell and Scorzetti, with later attribution to Q.M. Wang, Yurkov, Boekhout and F.Y. Bai in 2024.
