King's Lines Battery is an artillery battery in Gibraltar. It sits along the access path to the Gate of Granada and is part of the North Front defences with Couvreport Battery, Hanover Battery, Bomb Proof Battery and the tunnel system. The site is a Class A listed building under the Gibraltar Heritage Trust Act of 1989. The King's Lines occupy older Moorish/Spanish fortifications that date back to at least 1627 and were used during the 1704 siege of Gibraltar. The Lines were named soon after Gibraltar was captured in 1704, during the War of the Spanish Succession, associated with Archduke Charles of Austria (often linked with Charles III, King of Spain).
