Since 24 July 2022, Bajram Begaj has served as Albania’s president. He previously reached the rank of major general and was the 26th Chief of General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces. He has a background in medicine and focuses on protecting Albanian rights, sovereignty, and prosperity, while strengthening Albania’s ties with the Euro-Atlantic community.
