The Mercedes-Benz M282 is a small 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 petrol engine produced since 2018. It was developed with the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance and is the successor to the 1.6-liter M270/M274 family. Renault markets it as the H5Ht and Nissan calls it the HR13DDT. The engine shares its design with Renault’s H5Ht and uses direct injection, a double overhead camshaft with 16 valves and variable cam timing. It also features cylinder deactivation (on cylinders 2 and 3) and an engine particulate filter. Specifications include a 1,332 cc displacement, bore 72.2 mm, stroke 81.4 mm, and compression ratio 10.6:1. It is turbocharged and water-cooled. Power ranges from 80–120 kW (about 107–163 hp) and torque from 180–250 Nm (about 133–184 lb-ft). Production is by MDC Power in Kölleda, Thuringia, Germany.
