Kim Yarbrough
Kim Yarbrough (born August 1, 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American singer and actress. She started acting at age 8, first appearing in a short film called 2081 as an orchestra member and violinist. Since then she has appeared on TV shows such as Bones and Sonny with a Chance, often in roles that let her sing. She acted in the TV movie Dad’s Home and guest-starred on The Defenders. She had a recurring role on Dexter as the Requisitions Officer, and appeared in the TV movie Grace and the short Mushroom Pizza. She joined the cast of Conan from 2010 to 2011 and has worked on projects like Somewhere Slow, Vegas, Hollywood Heights, and 2 Broke Girls. She also plays Madame Labuef on Nickelodeon’s The Haunted Hathaways.
Kim competed on Season 2 of The Voice. Two judges turned their chairs, and she chose Adam Levine as her coach. She won her Battle round singing No More Drama with Whitney Meyer. In the live shows she performed Rolling in the Deep by Adele, and during eliminations she sang Spotlight by Jennifer Hudson. She finished 18th out of 48 contestants. She returned for the finale and sang Superstition with former contestants Naia Kete, Sera Hill, and Cheesa.
