Kids of 88
Kids of 88 were a New Zealand music duo from Auckland, made up of Jordan Arts and Sam McCarthy. They performed from 2008 to 2014 and are best known for their 2009 single “My House.” They signed with Sony Music (via Dryden Street) and released the album Sugarpills in August 2010. In 2014, they said the project had ended. The two have been best friends for about ten years; they went to St Peter’s College in Auckland and formed the band Incursa, winning Smokefreerockquest in 2004.
Their music blends retro vibes with modern pop and has bold, catchy hooks. McCarthy is also a member of Goodnight Nurse.
